Q. Can vaccinated people still donate plasma?
A. Yes, however depending on the type of COVID-19 vaccine there may be a waiting period. (See below)
Q. How long do I have to wait after my vaccination to donate plasma?
A. If you recently received the following COVID-19 vaccine:
• Pfizer & Moderna (nucleic/RNA origin vaccine) = there is no deferral time
• Johnson & Johnson (live accentuated vaccine) = 14-day deferral time
• If you do not know the origin or manufacturer of your vaccine = 14-day deferral time
Q. Can I donate plasma if I recently had COVID-19?
A. Yes, you can donate plasma after recovering from COVID-19, however, there is a 10-day deferral time following the cessation of symptoms or the date of a positive test.
